Ignations Music Society present Les Miserables
Costume and Wardrobe ~ Seamus

"Dazzling costuming faithful to the revolutionary times"
Jason Whittaker
Australian Stage
20 September 2009

"The director Simone de Haas, co-musical directors Harmony Woollet and Edgar Chan, set designer
Craig Anderson, costume designer Sean Hoban are to be commended for the wonderful job that was
the show I saw on Friday night (25 Sept). ... The costumes were extremely
well done and it was obvious a lot of work had gone into the wardrobe."
PAULINE SMITH 27 September, 2009

"There is a freshness and edge to this new production that takes the company’s reputation to a new level....As well as the pathos and passion, there are lighter moments in Les Miserables. The scene with the prostitutes was hot and heavy with wandering hands and legs in the air – sometimes less is more..."

Opening night, September 18
Carmel Audsley of Perform Magazine

"I've seen Les Mis in London, Sydney, QPAC and this is the best I've seen"
"Please tell your cast this is the best show I've ever seen."

"You could put it on at QPAC."
"I've seen it at QPAC - this is great because you can see the actors emotion being so close to the stage"

"Can I get a DVD of the performance?"

Flipside Circus presents The Tempest ~by William Shakespeare

Costumes ~ Seamus

"It has been a pleasure to watch my creations come to life through the amazing skills of the flipside performers, creating an unforgettably enchanting world."

Flipside Circus performs The Tempest

Flipside Circus is a youth focused circus which is strongly involved in community development. The company is an expanding, community based not-for-profit organization based in Brisbane. I was the costume designer for the production ‘Storm in a Teacup’ showcased over 12 performances to 4000 people at the Brisbane PowerHouse in October 2008.

The costume design process involved developing the aesthetic concept, sourcing wholesale fabrics, hand-painting colourful prints to be digitally rendered onto lycra, sampling and reviewing costumes with the director, production manager, trainers, performers and my costume crew, fitting costumes for performers from 10 to 60 years old, directing a construction team of volunteers to cut and sew costumes, managing the hair and makeup department and ensuring that the rehearsal deadline was met on time and cost below budget to create a wardrobe of over 60 beautiful and durable garments.
